Project description

The surface from 0.00 to 10.00 is gravel at various stages of re-sheeting with the overall surface poor. During rain events the road floods and the community does not have another road to access essential supplies. Gravel sheeting of the Mt Margaret community road from SLK 0.00 to 10.00 and then seal and reseal the length of re sheeting. The width of the seal road will be 7 metres. Additional funding coming from the Shire of Laverton.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
