Project description

Drainage culverts failing due to salt ingress.

Remove and replace Culverts. The 5 section culvert will be replaced with 5 x 600 mm HDPE pipes, 5 pipes with 3 pipes in a triple precast 600 headwall and 2 pipes in a double 600 precast headwall. The 2 section culvert will be replaced with 2 x 900 mm HDPE pipes, 2 pipes with both pipes in a double 900 precast headwall. Total pipe schedule: 600mm pipes – 10 lengths of 6 metres long each 900mm pipes – 4 lengths of 6 metres long each

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
