Project description

The intersection of Great Northern Highway with Toodyay Road and Eveline Road has an average surface condition rating of 3.40 out of 5 (with 5 being very poor) in the 2020 condition survey. Visual inspections confirm that the road requires a resurface before costly rehabilitation works are needed.

Profile off 40 mm asphalt wearing, apply 7 mm granite primer seal and lay 40 mm new Asphalt Concrete wearing.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
