Project description

This project aims to address road safety concerns caused by insufficient parking space along Agnes Street. With increasing patronage of the adjacent community facility, nearby residents, and the neighbouring primary school, this section of the road is heavily used for on-street parking, particularly during peak hours. The project’s objective is to improve safety and traffic flow by offsetting the running lane and providing indented parking spaces.

The work is to be constructed compliant intended parking space adjacent to Agnes Street which includes civil works such as excavation of nature strip, road pavement works, surface sealing, drainage installation, kerb installation, line markings and associated civil and landscaping works. The project is co-funded between R2R and George Town Council under 2025/26 Budget. The funding proportion is shown below: R2R Funding: $117,263 Council Funding: $33,262

Total cost of proposed project is $150,000
