Project description

Road Seal in relatively poor condition and road pavement requires minor patching works prior to full width reseal of 5.5 metres.

Black Swamp is a connector road between two regional roads - Mount Lindesay Road and Bruxner Way, and is beneficial as a bypass of Tenterfield Town Centre in case of any emergencies. A 4.66 km section of road between Mount Lindesay Road and Wellington Lookout Road is sealed and is currently in poor condition. This proposed interventional treatment will preserve the pavement integrity and avoid costly repairs if reseal works are delayed.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
