Project description

Failed base and seal due to inadequate storm water management.

Survey the vertical and horizontal alignment of existing sealed roadway, cut out and remove the existing base material. Correct both the horizontal and vertical alignments and design heights. Reconstruction of Kerb and Water table infrastructure to improve storm water management. Cart in place and compact road sub-base material, cart in place base layer and compact base layers, perform a two coat bitumen 14/7 seal inclusive of prime coat.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
