Project description

The works aim to improve safety and traffic flow.

- Widening of the existing Goonyella Road to achieve the required geometry. - Construction of an approximately 170 m extension of Goonyella Service Road. - Modification and constructing new intersections and accesses along Goonyella Road between Curtin Street and Industrial Avenue. - Supply and installation of 280 mm unbound Subtype 2.1 base for Goonyella Road widening. - Supply and installation of 250 mm unbound Subtype 2.1 base for Goonyella Service Road. - Installation of a new 375 mm diameter RCP under the new Goonyella Service Road access. - Installation of kerb and channel and improved roadside drainage. - Installation of concrete protection for underground electrical assets where required. - Relocation of the existing water truck fill point (standpipe) to the south-western side of Goonyella Road. - Installation of a 200 mm diameter pipe teeing into an existing 250 mm diameter PVC main. - Construction of a new concrete plinth and hardstand for trucks to park on adjacent to the new fill point. The project's outstanding balance is being funded through Isaac Regional Council's budget.
