Project description

Pallinup Road was constructed ready for seal in 2024/2025. This road is a grain haulage route to the Broomehill CBH storage facility. The sealing of the road will provide safe all year round access for both heavy vehicles and local traffic. It will also address the dust hazard in summer which creates low visibiity when vehicles are travelling along it. This project continues work undertaken in previous years working towards sealing the full length of the road.

Apply a two coat bitumen seal to 7 m width.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
