Project description

This location has significant pavement failure due to water ingress. Rain events result in 50 mm - 100 mm of water to remain on the pavement for an extended period and have resulted in deterioration of the asset.

Reconstruction and drainage including the installation of twin stormwater lines each side of the road down Regent Street. Pavement rehabilitation including replacement of the base and subbase layers. Installation of a two coat seal, 10/7 mm and replacement of any kerb and gutter in poor condition.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
