Project description

Rehabilitation - We undertook rehabilitation works to address pavement failures and improve the road structure, including removing failed sections, repairing soft spots, reinstating the pavement layers with suitable material, and reshaping and compacting the surface to restore ride quality and drainage performance. Associated drainage and roadside works were completed as required, including culvert checks/clean-outs and vegetation management to maintain clear runoff paths.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
