Project description

Gravel Road Re sheet - as part of the re-sheet treatment, We carried out maintenance grading on gravel road to restore the running surface and road shape, addressing corrugations, potholes and minor rutting, and reformed the surface where required. Drainage assets were checked and cleared, including cleaning culvert inlets and outlets and removing built-up sediment from table drains to improve runoff. Roadside vegetation was also trimmed/slashed to maintain clearance and keep drainage paths unobstructed.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
