Project description

Tukara Road is an urban collector road which, according to Council records, was constructed circa 1977. The road has experienced numerous failures with rutting, crocodile cracking and heaving and has been repaired via heavy patching. Due to the age of the road and the increasing traffic volume it is suggested that the existing base materials and subgrade materials need to be replaced with formed stabilised materials with geotextile underlay where necessary. It is proposed to stabilise the subgrade and base materials using bitumen foam stabilisation and provide a 50 mm asphalt wearing surface. Below is a list of the works proposed to 220 m length of road by 10.2 m wide: 50 mm AC14 wearing surface 275 mm Foamed Bitumen Stabilised Base + Geogrid
