Project description

The project works are located along a 1.95-kilometre section of roadway scheduled for rehabilitation and resealing. Within this total length, 1.5 kilometres will undergo full pavement rehabilitation, while the remaining 450-metre section, situated centrally within the scoped area, will receive a reseal treatment only. The work site extends continuously across the entire 1.95 km length and comprises varying pavement conditions requiring targeted intervention. Traffic management measures will be implemented for the full duration of the works to ensure safe access for construction crews and road users. Scope of Activities Traffic Control Installation and maintenance of traffic control devices in accordance with relevant traffic management plans. Safe management of single-lane closures and controlled traffic flow through the work zone. Removal of Existing Seal Progressive stripping or milling of the existing deteriorated seal surface along the rehabilitation section (1.5 km). Clearing all loose material to prepare for base layer treatment. Pavement Reinstatement and Gravel Placement Placement of additional gravel to re-establish correct crossfall and improve surface drainage characteristics. Regrading and shaping of the pavement to achieve uniform profile and fall in line with design requirements. Base Layer Preparation Rehabilitation of the base layer to a depth of 150–200 mm. Moisture conditioning and compaction of the base to meet TfNSW compaction and density specifications. Quality assurance testing (e.g., density testing, moisture content, layer thickness verification) to ensure compliance. Inspection and Testing Routine testing carried out throughout construction to maintain quality control and ensure conformance with standards. Inspection records and compaction testing results maintained for project documentation. Guidepost / signage Inspection and Replacement Full inspection of guideposts along the 1.95 km length. Replacement of damaged or non-compliant guideposts / signage as required. Resealing / sealing Works Application of a 14/7 double/double (D/D) spray seal over the entire 1.95 km section . Use of C240 binder, selected for its enhanced performance in cold weather and freeze–thaw conditions to ensure long-term durability of the sealed surface (currently selected - might change to PMB if needed ).
