Warrigal Road, Runcorn - 098876-18QLD-RTR
Brisbane City Council identified the Warrigal Road, Bellmead Street and Plum Street intersection as a location within the local road network that requires an upgrade to improve operating efficiency and improve local access and, safety. Warrigal Road is a busy road that carries more than 12,000 vehicles per day and provides connectivity to Fruitgrove Train station, Warrigal Square and Runcorn Plaza shopping centres and Warrigal Road State School. Currently vehicles experience difficulty turning in and out of Bellmead Street and Plum Street due to the high volume of traffic on Warrigal Road, resulting in queues back from the nearby rail crossing in the afternoon peak and limited visibility due to the crest on the southern approach to this intersection. Warrigal Road is also a high frequency bus route, however there are currently no controlled pedestrian crossing facilities in the near vicinity to allow safe crossing to the adjacent bus stops. The project will involve: • installing traffic signals including signalised pedestrian crossings • service relocations • providing an additional lane in each direction on Warrigal Road • widening Plum Street on the northern side adjacent to Warrigal Road • resurfacing sections of Warrigal Road, Bellmead Street and Plum Street near the intersection • installing new line markingTotal cost of proposed project is $5,129,882

Ghan Heritage Road is part of the Binns Track providing a 4WD experience for tourism. The road is currently experiencing very dry conditions, with high 4WD tourism, cattle station and community usage for cattle transport. This vehicle traffic has caused numerous sections of road to deteriorate into deep bull dust and sand of area over 600 mm depth.Gravel resheet from chainage 126 to 127.2 kilometres.

Port Augusta to Perth (WA)

The key arterial roads connecting to the corridor include the Esperance Highway and the Albany Highway in WA and the Flinders Highway and Augusta Highway in SA. The project will include targeted upgrades to widen, strengthen and realign various sections of this corridor to improve the flow of vehicles and increase access for higher efficiency heavy vehicles. The following projects are being delivered for the WA section of the corridor -  Port Augusta to Perth (WA) - Coolgardie-Esperance Highway - Emu Rocks  Port Augusta to Perth (WA) - Great Eastern Highway - Walgoolan Southern Cross and Coates Gully
North Brisbane Bruce Highway Western Alternative
The Project will investigate alternate corridors and opportunities for staged delivery of road and rail improvements in the vicinity of the Bruce Highway north of Brisbane through a suite of initiatives including a detailed business case. This Business Case is expected to examine the viability of constructing a western alternative corridor parallel to the Bruce Highway in north Brisbane. An alternative corridor would relieve congestion and improve safety outcomes for commuters and businesses in the growing northern Brisbane region. It would also reduce local trips from the Bruce Highway.
