Project description

The project involved the construction of a five kilometre freeway standard connection from Anglesea Road to the Princes Highway West near Draytons Road.

The project included construction of an interchange to accommodate movements on and off the Geelong Ring Road, two bridges, and rest areas for east-bound and west-bound traffic, including separate parking for cars and trucks, a sheltered area and toilets.

The project has improved saftey, freight efficiency and local amenity.

Funding

The total cost of the project was $118.86 million The Australian Government contributed $48.6 million and the Victorian Government $70.2 million.

Timetable

The project commenced on 22 October 2010 and was completed on 8 February 2013.
