Project description

The existing pavement width is too narrow for the number of vehicles using the road. Mary Street has experienced an increase in the number and type of vehicles using the road, which has created the need for a wider pavement width to safely accomodate the traffic flow.

Stage 1 (now completed) of this project included the widening of the bitument seal, from an existing width of 4.2m to a new width of 7.5m to match kerb and channel. This project is Stage 2 and includes the installation of kerb and channel around existing trees located in the centre of the road and asphalt overlay to the existing bitumen seal undertaken in Stage 1.
