Project description

This section of road is narrow for the amouhnt of traffic that it caters for. The current seal is 3.6m wide from the existing 6.5m wide section through to Old Esk Road Intersection. Making this section of road dangerous for overtaking or passsing. The road is a school bus route with high traffic volume. Drainage on the high side is liminted.

Widening the existing seal to 8m formation with 6.5 width and 2 coat seal. Minor extension of cross drainage.

Tasmanian Freight Rail Revitalisation - Tranche 1 and 2

The Freight Rail Revitalisation program helped to raise the quality of the major lines on the Tasmanian rail network through selective sleepering and track replacement. Culverts were strengthened, drainage and formation works undertaken and level crossings upgraded. These works built on upgrades under the previous Australian Government funded program that were designed to keep the lines at an operational standard, with the objective of improving overall safety, reliability and thereby competitiveness of the rail network. The Freight Rail Revitalisation program consists of two projects - one for Tasmanian rail lines on the National Land Transport Network (the Network), and one for those off the Network (Off-Network).
