Project description

The project grade separated the intersection of Summerleas Road on the Huon Highway by lowering Summerleas Road below the Huon Highway. The project completed the construction of two roundabouts on Summerleas Road and four entry and exit ramps. In addition, the project constructed a new westbound overtaking lane on the Huon Highway, installed flexible safety barriers and improved bus, pedestrian and cycling facilities.

The project will improve safety and travel times along the Huon Highway.

Funding

The cost of the project was $20.16 million. The Australian Government contribution was $16.12 million and the Tasmanian Government $4.04 million.

Timetable

Construction commenced on January 2017 and was completed in July 2018.
