Project description

A number of intersections along the Great Western Highway at Blackheath, including Govetts Leap Road, will be upgraded to improve traffic flows and road user safety.

Funding

The Australian Government is contributing $200 million to the $250 million Great Western Highway - Katoomba to Lithgow package with the New South Wales government contributing $50 million. The Australian Government and New South Wales government are jointly funding the $32.0 million project of which the Australian Government has committed $27.1 million.

Timetable

Construction commenced in October 2018 and the project opened to traffic early 2020.
