The road has recenlty been classified as a by-pass or detour route for the Dukes Highway, but is uable to cope with traffic demands.

Work to be complted during 2013-14 includes the widening of cuttings, provision for drainage, widening shoulders and the construction of batters.

Total cost of proposed project is $2,769,000
