Project description

Commercial Street East is one of the heaviest trafficked roads in the city and the extraordinary wet months of winter have accelerated the rate of deteriation of the road pavement (evidenced by the pavement material being "pumped" up through the surface cracks) and it is timely to address this problem as a matter of irgency.

The proposal is to remove the cracked areas of road pavement to a predetermined design depth and replace with assphalt. Commercial Street East carries very high traffic volumes (it is the highest trafficked road in the City) and it imperative that the works are carried out quickly and with minimum delays. The new aspalt will strenghten the road pavement and also provide a long lasting and smooth surface for traffic.

Gidyea Street Barcaldine - 059393-15QLD-RTR

The majority of streets within Barcaldine have a narrow bitumen seal which is insufficient for vehicles to pass and are without kerb and channel. Due to narrowness of the seal vehicles need to drive on the adjacent unsealed shoulders when passing which generates a dust hazard. During rain events potholes form readily immediately adjacent to the bitumen edge which deteroriates the unsealed shoulder further.Reconstruction of the existing pavement and the installation of kerb and channel to formalise the carriageway, minimise dust and improve drainage.

Spring Creek Road (Rural Road) - 059394-15VIC-RTR

The road pavement is being final sealed or resealed as per Council maintenance protocols.The entire section of pavement will be spray sealed and appropriate sized stone applied. In some instances emulsions or micro seals may be applied.

Warrenbayne West Road (Rural Road) - 059395-15VIC-RTR

Coolibah Street Barcaldine - 059397-15QLD-RTR

Brockman street, Norseman - 059398-15WA-RTR

The seal is showing signs of minor edge break, the aggregate has worn smooth, has poor skid resistance and the binder condition is brittle.A single coat reseal to preserve the base course and prevent a complete rebuild.

Cemetery Road (Urban Road) Muttaburra - 059400-15QLD-RTR

Existing carriageway is an unsealed gravel road. During periods of dry weather dust holes occur, during periods of wet weather the road becomes boggy (black soil). In both instances the road is difficult to traverse.Reconstruction of gravel section of road to an 8m standard to a pavement depth of 200mm. Prime and seal the recontructed pavement to a width of 6m.

McWhannell Street Aramac - 059401-15QLD-RTR

Existing pavement is deformed which presents a safety hazard to the motorists.Pavement to be scarified, 50mm top up material to be added. Pavement to be recompacted, primed and sealed.

Oallen Ford Road, Nadgigomar Creek - 059402-15NSW-RTR

Dangerous road alignment and narrow road width.Realignment of existing sealed road and widen pavement to 9m pavement with 7m bitumen 14/7mm two coat seal to improve safety and smoothness of ride, 800m length.

Finlay Road, Goulburn - 059403-15NSW-RTR

Lack of drainage and aged seal has oxidised and failed resulting in numerous pavement failures.New kerb and gutter, subsoil drainage, stormwater pits and pipes. Full pavement reconstruction with new granular pavement reinforced with geotextile and asphalt wearing course. Length=260m, Width=11m.
