Project description

The project will upgrade approximately 6.8 kilometres of Narellan Road between Camden Valley Way at Narellan and Blaxland Road in Campbelltown to a six-lane divided road.

Stage One—between the M31 Hume Motorway and the access road to the Western Sydney University
Stage Two— between M31 Hume Motorway and Camden Valley Way and from the access road to the Western Sydney University at Campbelltown to the Blaxland Road/Gilchrist Drive intersection

Benefits

The upgrade will enable Narellan Road to support the increased growth in demand associated with the South West Growth Centre.

Funding

The Australian Government is providing $62.9 million towards the construction of this project.

Timetable

On 23 May 2014, BMD Constructions Pty Ltd was awarded the contract for the construction of Stage One of the Narellan Road Upgrade. Construction commenced on 23 July 2014 and was completed in March 2016.

On 23 October 2015, Seymour Whyte Constructions Pty Ltd was awarded the contract for the construction of Stage Two. Construction commenced in December 2015 and was completed in April 2018.

Cashmere-Kirrama Road, Kirrama - 055853-15QLD-RTR

The timber girders which support the 15m long timber running surface are in poor condition due to their age, water damage and some infestation from white ants.Proposed works include the removal of the existing timber girders and timber deck and replace with reinforced box culverts and undertake some minor roadway approach works.Total cost of proposed project is $304,884

Existing pavement is severly depleted of pavement material.Nominal pavement width to be increased to 4m. Renewal of low standard pavement with minimum 80mm fine crushed rock.Total cost of proposed project is $34,622
