Project description

The project will pave, seal and upgrade sections of the Outback Way in Queensland to improve safety and access to remote areas.

Benefits

The project is designed to unlock the potential benefits of the Outback Way to the Australian economy and indigenous and remote communities, particularly in the areas of tourism, mining and freight.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $11 million towards the upgrades.

Timetable

Construction commenced on this project in mid-2015 and was completed in late 2018.
