Project description

The project will construct an intermodal freight hub in Ballarat, Victoria. The Ballarat Intermodal Freight Hub will be located in the planned Ballarat West Employment Zone (BWEZ) and will be capable of handling High Productivity Vehicles.

Benefits

The project is expected to support producers and transporters in the region and incentivise further shifting freight from road to rail.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $27.75 million to this project.

Timetable

Planning for the project is underway, with construction is due to commence mid 2026.
