Project description

Existing gravel pavement deteriorated by sub surface natural water and poor strength underlying natural clay layer. Pavement now distressed and lifting and subsiding causing large heaving and resulting in potential vehicle damage. Street originally dedicated and constructed 1894, last treatment recorded since 1960 is 1989 resurfacing with asphalt.

Replace existing saturated gravel road pavement with recycled pavement materials over geofabric material for increased strength. Sub soil drainage to be installed along pavement edges and selected replacement of under lying clay layer to provide protection from sub surface water. New asphalt wearing surface to be laid over new pavement.

Total cost of proposed project is $309,583
