The project involved the construction of an interchange on the South Eastern Freeway at Bald Hills Road. Works included west-facing and east-facing ramps as well as a new roundabout at the Old Princes Highway and Bald Hills Road junction.
The project is expected to achieve immediate safety outcomes and improve traffic flows for Mount Barker, while also being ready to meet future traffic demands with planned residential development in the Mount Barker area.
The Australian Government is contributing $16 million, the South Australian Government is contributing $8 million and the District Council of Mount Barker is contributing $3 million to this $27 million project.
The project commenced in June 2015 and was completed August 2016.
