Project description

The road is currently a 2-lane single carraigeway and need a 4-lane dual carraigeway to accomodate the increase in volume of traffic contributed by the increased new developments in the area and also to improve road safety especially at intersections. Also the existing carraigeway needs to be upgraded to prevent impact by rising ground water levels.

Dual carraigeway by constructing a new two lane carraigeway on west side with a 6m wide median separating north and south bound carraigeways, upgrading existing carraigeway, upgrading intersections, constructing new paths, crash barriers and road drainage infrastructure.

Total cost of proposed project is $15,000,000

The timber girders which support the 15m long timber running surface are in poor condition due to their age, water damage and some infestation from white ants.Proposed works include the removal of the existing timber girders and timber deck and replace with reinforced box culverts and undertake some minor roadway approach works.Total cost of proposed project is $304,884

Existing pavement is severly depleted of pavement material.Nominal pavement width to be increased to 4m. Renewal of low standard pavement with minimum 80mm fine crushed rock.Total cost of proposed project is $34,622
