Project description

The kerb and water table on both sides of Carruth Road are displaced both vertically and horizontally due to soil movement and tree growth. The road pavement is significantly deformed due to the reactive sub-grades in the area. Carruth Road is classified as a collector road with a vehicle traffic volume of 2,377 vehicles per day.

It is proposed to replace all of the kerbing on both sides of Carruth Road. The kerb replacement will be followed by the removal of the road seal and pavement. The road will be replaced with a 100mm Asphalt pavement followed with 40mm Asphalt seal. The project includes the replacement of an existing roundabout at the intersection of Barrelder Road and Carruth Road.
