Project description

The project involved the construction of two dual-lane roundabouts on Station Road at the intersection at each of the Calder Freeway access ramps at Gisborne/New Gisborne, Victoria.

Benefits

The roundabouts are expected to significantly improve and provide safer access onto and off the Calder Freeway.

Funding

The cost of the project was $6.35 million. The Australian Government contributed $4.76 million and the Victorian Government $1.58 million.

Timetable

Construction commenced on 6 March 2016 and was completed on 19 June 2017.

Narrow, sealed, urban road close to sporting venues with no formal road drainage or parking facilities.Reconstruction of pavement and installation of kerb and channelling, with widening to 12 m sealed width and provision of on-street parking bays to improve traffic management.Total cost of proposed project is $349,000

Unsealed road which is eroding due to poor drainage and rutting out.Reconstruct existing unsealed road, incorporatig new roadbase material to add to existing suitable material. Place new bitumen seal consisting of one layer of 10mm stone and 2 layers of 7mm stone.
