This is one of the 20 projects being delivered as part of the Australian Government's $508 million commitment to the Warrego Highway Upgrade Program.
The project replaced the existing structurally defective and load restricted culvert with a concrete bridge, and widening of the existing approaches.
The project improved transport efficiency and capacity at this location, on the Warrego Highway. The project also catered for the projected increase in traffic levels generated from the growth of the Surat Basin resource region.
The Australian Government committed to provide 80 per cent up to $25.84 million towards the estimated $32.3 million cost of the project, in partnership with the Queensland Government.
As the project was delivered under budget for $10.6 million, the final Australian Government contribution was $8.5 million.
Construction commenced in July 2016 and was completed in August 2017.
