Project description

Seal has reached the end of its useful life and needed to be profiled and resealed. In order to do this kerb and gutter repairs were needed before the road could be resealed.

Identified kerb being removed and replaced to ensure sufficant drainage and also a straightline for the road reseal. Upon completion of kerbing works the road to be profiled to remove severity of gradient before the entire seciton of road be resealed.

Total cost of proposed project is $118,808

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
