Project description

The project involved strengthening ten bridges on the Hume Freeway from Tallarook to Chiltern.

Benefits

The project increases the load capacity of bridges on the Hume Freeway from 68 tonnes to 113 tonnes. This reduces operating costs and also provides greater flexibility for heavy vehicles operators.

Funding

The estimated cost of the project is $7.6 million. The Australian Government is contributing $6.08 million and the Victorian Government $1.52 million.

Timetable

Construction commenced 27 July 2016 and was completed on 27 October 2017.
