Project description

The existing road is in poor condition, consisting of less than 100mm of low quality sandstone. The road has severe corrugation and during Winter, large potholes occur regularly and the roadway is subjected to water inundation and is unsafe for the freight of primary produce from the local area. Due to the current road condition only part of this road is currently gazzetted as a B-Double commodity route.

Reconstruction to 1.53 kilometres of Smith Road of the existing unsealed pavement followed by a sealed wearing surface suitable for B-Double vehicles. The existing pavement will be reworked appropriately providing a suitable base to add approximately 260mm of a higher grade pavement material. This will be capped off by a 14/7mm two coat spray seal. The existing road will be reconstructed to a 7m wide seal, with 1m unsealed shoulders in both sides of the road.

Total cost of proposed project is $1,499,411

The section of road is due to be resealed as required by the 15 year reseal program. There are safety concerns due to the deterioration of the road.Reseal 4 kms with Class 170 Bitumen and 10mm aggregate.

Road suffers from crocodile and linear cracking and warn seal from high heavy vehicle usage.Reseal 4000 metres X 6.2 metres section of road with a 10mm aggregate and single coat spray seal of bitumen.Total cost of proposed project is $136,482

Crusher Road (Rural Road) - 059891-15SA-RTR

Road suffers from severe corrugation and pot holing due to the high usage of heavy vehicles.Resheet 1000 Metre X 7 Metre section of road with 200mm compacted rubble.Total cost of proposed project is $100,000

Pilgrim Road (Rural Road) - 059892-15SA-RTR

The road is high use heavy transport route for industry located in the area. Currently the road is unsealed and suffers from severe corrugations and pot holing.Reconstruct and seal a 300 metre X 7 metre section of road with a 260 mm compacted rubble base and sealed with a 14mm/7mm two coat bitumen seal.Total cost of proposed project is $114,285
