Project description

This gravel section of road is to be sealed and widened as it is too narrow and undefined. It is a dangerous intersection as the road geometry does not favour the priority road, being Locke Street. Works will create a proper T - intersection and the drivers that must give way will be clearly identifiable.

Full reconstruction to be carried out including vertical and horizontal alignment improvements to ensure the T instersection is clearly defined. A 150mm base layer of selected road base and seal will be applied

Brooke Lane is unsealed and has significant dust issues in summer and slippery pavement issues in the wetter monthsIt is proposed to top up and re-shape the existing pavement and then place a bitumen seal on the new pavement. There will also be some improvement works to the existing drainage
