Project description

The gravel on this section of road is seriously deficient as it has been compacted and /or depleted through hire usage and lack of maintenance. Burt Road has been subject of a five year gravel sheeting program and this section is two of the five year program to be gravel resheeted.

Council proposes to prune trees to improve sight distances, clear out blocked culverts, do minor formation work and gravel sheeting 100mm thick by 10m wide to reinstate this section of road back to its original condition.

As White Road runs parallel to the South Eastern Freeway (within 30m at is shortest point) there is often dust issues on the freeway. In addition due the freight volume maintenance of White Road is a high cost item for Rural City of Murray BridgeRehabilitate and improve the unsealed granular pavement by installing additional material and applying 14/7mm spray seal. Pavement works will be undertaken by Council works staff with sealing works contracted to Council sealing contractor.
