Project description

The section of Rapid Bay road contains pavement failure, surface ravelling, cracking, seal edge break and an extensive seal edge drop off. Rapid Bay Road is a regionally significant Tourist and Community Access Route and the work will improve the safety of the road particularly for road users (tourists) who are unfamiliar with the road.

The reestablishment / repair of the unsealed shoulders to reduce edge drop off and excessive cross fall. Pavement reconstruction and resealing to the road surface to provide a minimum sealed width of 7.2 metres with localised sealing width around bends. Replacement of substandard warning and advisory signage and guide post installations. Intersection realignment at Lord Road. Investigation to intersection signage at Main South Road in liaison with the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure.

Total cost of proposed project is $1,200,000
