Project description

The vertical and horizontal geometry of Dalrymple Road for the majority of its length is poor with the cross fall being on average 10% to 12% which does not fall within Austroads specifications. Dalrymple Road also has a narrow carriageway on average 4.7m wide and shoulder widths are also constricted.

The proposed works would be undertaken on Dalrymple Road from the junction with Old Bangor Tram Road north some 3.2km to the junction with East Arm Road. It is proposed to widen Dalrymple Road to a minimum of 6 metres, improve crossfall conditions and install line marking to clearly delineate and separate the carriageway/traffic lanes.
