Project description

This is a hilly section with many rocky outcrops of quarts and granite making it very rough and difficult to maintenance grade particularly finding dirt from the batters. The rocky outcops have also necessitated several undesirable corners. It is a main tourist route to the MT Augustus National Park and has stock traffic.

Good local material will be used to sheet and be water bound on various sections totalling 11 km to reduce wear and reappearance of rocks. One corner around a granite outcrop will be re-aligned for better safety and to avoid rocky sections on the current alignment.
