Project description

Balanada Dive is a Rural Link Road that carries both domestic and commercial traffic (orchid and stone fruits products). The road seal is very narrow (max 6.0m) with no formed shoulder. There has been 3 serious accident since 2010 (1 fatality) and the works will be part funded by State Blackspot Program.

Balanada Drive will be widened by 1.5m each side to create a formed shoulder. The existing seal will be removed and the pavement reconstructed to create a road with a 6m seal with 1.0n wide sealed shoulders. 120m of W-beam guard rail will be introduced to protect an existing 2m drop off. New line marking including a solid edge line and guideposts will be installed.

Total cost of proposed project is $337,824
