Project description

Havelock Street is an Urban Collector road where the existing sealed road pavement, which is 210 metres long by 12 metres wide between kerbs, has failed. The road surface is rutted and heaved and has deteriorated.

The existing pavement is to be removed between the existing kerbs and replaced with a new deeper pavement and the road surface asphalted to provide a level safe surface in the urban environment. Some kerb renewal works will be undertaken to provide safer parking.

Total cost of proposed project is $440,000

The road pavement is being final sealed or resealed as per Council maintenance protocols.The entire section of pavement will be spray sealed and appropriate sized stone applied. In some instances emulsions or micro seals may be applied.

The seal is showing signs of cracking, some potholes and minor edge break. the aggregate has worn smooth and has poor skid resistance.To apply a single coat reseal

Yamba Road, Yamba - 059378-15NSW-RTR

Twin 1350 mm diameter pipe culverts across the road are sinking, causing failure of the road. surface.The proposed works will pump grout beneath and around the culverts to provide additional support to and stabilise the culverts. The road surface will then be repaired and resealed.

Ramsay Street, Norseman - 059379-15WA-RTR

The seal is showing signs of cracking and minor edge break; the aggregate has worn smooth and has poor skid resistance and the binder condition is brittle.A single coat reseal to preserve the base course and prevent a complete rebuild.

Bigga Road (Rural Road) - 059380-15NSW-RTR

Problems being addressed is the poor roadside drainage and rutting and shifting of the road surface which contributes to the poor wearing surface.Works proposed to be undertaken for this project is to rehabilitate 2.0km of the road. This will involve drainage improvements and importing, spreading, shaping and compacting gravel on road shoulders and applying a bituminous re-seal to the existing bitumen surface.
