Project description

Upgrade local road infrastructure to improve road safety. Existing road pavement shows significant areas of failure and distress. Turning movements into side roads are unprotected. Existing road seal width is undefined with gravel shoulders. Existing culvert crossing is undersized and increases flooding risk.

Stage 5 of road reconstruction approximately between Wigg Street (chainage 880m) to Docking Street (chainage 1340m). Installation of a central median and intersection treatments, with the provision of bus, cycle lanes and pedestrian facilities. Works to including stripping of existing seal, pavement strengthening including subgrade replacement as required, new pavement widening and new sealing works and linemarking. Construction of new kerb and channel with associated drainage modifications. Major culvert upgrade.
