Project description

This Bridge on Bakers Beach Road over Sheepwash Creek is timber. The abutment, beams, deck, kerbs and rails are worn and rotting. It is Councils highest priority listed bridge for replacement in the 2015/16 financial year. Following heavy rain it sometimes becomes flooded and impassable. This bridge provides the only access to the Narawantapu National Park.

Replace timber bridge with new concrete structure complying with the current Australian Standards. The cross sectional area for water passing under the bridge will be increased to reduce the regularity of the bridge being impassable to traffic.

Total cost of proposed project is $165,645
