Project description

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.

It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.

Isolated pavement failures require stabilising and bituminous surface requires renewal.Removal of failed sections of pavement and replacement with stabilised crushed rock and application of asphalt overlay to entire sealed surface.

Saftey concerns with the condition of the bridge deck and condition of the cross beams. There is no guard rail on or at the approaches of the bridge.Re-pour abutments install a precast bridge deck with new spans. Install guardrail on approaches to the bridge as well as on the deck.

Kiewa Crescent, Mount Beauty - 060989-15VIC-RTR

Turning movements from Lakeside Avenue into Kiewa Crescent are poorly defined. The 90 degree parking bays on each side of Kiewa Crescent are potentially hazardous during reversing movements. The bituminous surface and kerb & channel also require renewal.Construction of new raised median islands, kerb & channel realignment, remarking parking bays to 60 degrees, asphalt overlay to the sealed surface and line marking works.

Welling Drive, Mt Annan - 060990-15NSW-RTR

Existing pavement shows significant cracking, failures and rutting. Geotechnical investigates confirms that the pavement requires full reconstruction.Deeplift reconstruction of the central travel lanes, with localized widening at traffic devices.
