Project description

Virginia Street was constructed around 1929-1930 and is now in poor condition with significant cracks. In addition it has been patched over time as parts of the road fail. The existing surface is very rough in a number of locations. The drainage of the road surface is poor with ponding occurring at certain locations.

The reconstruction of the existing concrete road pavement to address its current poor condition and drainage concerns. The road will be sloped to allow it to drain correctly into the existing kerb and channel which was reconstructed earlier in an attempt to correct this fault. The road width is to be maintained as the kerb and channel is not being removed. The length of road being reconstructed in Virginia Street is approx. 315m in length.
