Project description

This section of Sedan Dip Road is 2km of 6m wide unsealed black soil road. Sedan Dip Road is one the shire's arterial roads (linking the McKinlay and Cloncurry Shires)and is mainly subject to heavy vehicle movement (livestock industry)as well as tourist traffic. The unsealed sections of this road consistently requires extensive maintenance to maintain a safe trafficable status and is continually subject to restoration works following wet weather events (often impassable for at least 2 weeks at a time). Sealing segments of this road greatly enhances this road's all-weather status limiting disruptions to travelling public and pastoral industry traffic(heavy vehicle livestock movement/access).

Formation and seal of 2km of 6m wide unsealed black soil road. The starting point for the 2km section of works on Sedan Dip Road to be approximately 32km of the Link Road intersection with Sedan Dip Road. Works to include re-instatement of shoulders, road markers, grid replacement (where necessary) and appropriate signage.

Total cost of proposed project is $500,000
