Project description

This road is a major industrial road which has a high volume of heavy vehicles. The road has extensive areas of crocodile cracking and rutting indicating that the pavement has excessive movement. The extensive cracking also allows for additional moisture to enter the base material and accelerate the failure. Some areas are displaying leaching of the pavement material through the asphalt. Some areas have the asphalt wearing course breaking away from the pavement due to the excessive deflections being experienced by the pavement.

Mill out the existing pavement to a depth of 150mm and replacement with asphalt. Work also includes the reconstruction of damaged sections of kerb and gutter.
