Project description

1. Drainage and wave action is undermining the road and road pavement. Koombana Drive is recognised as an important cycle link in the Bunbury Bike Plan and the Greater Bunbury Bicycle Master Plan. Shoulder widening will allow for on road cycle lanes. 2. The Dolphin Discovery Centre and Department of Parks and Wildlife (DPaW) development sites are to be located at opposite sites on either side of Koombana Drive at 2.16 to 2.37 SLK. This will generate increased traffic volumes and movements at this site. A new roundabout at this location will allow greater control of vehicle movements entering and exiting both sites.

Widen and seal from 10m width, reconstruct embankment to restore formation along Koombana Drive. Installation of a roundabout from 2.16 to 2.37 SLK.

Total cost of proposed project is $4,301,412
