Project description

The flow of storm water is not controlled and is causing significant erosion to the lane way. This results in difficulty in access and egress for residents, many of whom use the lane way as their primary means of vehicle access to their property.

Reform the lane way with two way negative cross falls so that where possible, storm water is contained centrally to the lane. Place a spray seal to the centre of the lane so that erosion is limited.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
