Project description

The Australian Age of Dinosaurs Road is a significant commercial road in the Winton Shire, with the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum located at the end of the 11.5km road. This major tourist destination receiving a significant amount of tourist traffic each year. Due to the unsealed nature, this renders the road unpassable in wet conditions and for days, sometimes weeks after wet conditions have subsided. Bringing up to a sealed standard is expected to mitigate that issue.

It is proposed to reconstruct the road on the existing alignment, importing gravel and bringing the standard of the road up to a 2 lane bitumen surfaced pavement.

Biddenham Road (Rural Road) - 060281-15QLD-RTR

Road traverses black soil country and black soil is now becoming evident through the old gravel pavement create areas that become slippery and dangerous during wet weather.Provede an 8m wide gravel pavent with a 4m wide 2 coat bitumen seal.Total cost of proposed project is $1,684,924

Old Main Jindivick Road, JINDIVICK - 060282-15VIC-RTR

Differential subgrade settlement, pavement failures, rutting, shoving and stripping.Clear all vegetation upto the edge of the drain. Sidecast and treat the sub grade for the entire stretch suffered from differential settlement of the subgrade starting from approximate Chainage 300m until Chainage 1475m. Excavate, pulverise and stabilise with cement, shape, relay and compact to uniform depth of 250mm. Apply 100mm thick layer of 20mm nominal size class 2 fine crushed rock. Apply two coat spray seal. Intsall kerb and channel on both sides from approximate Chainage 775m until Chainage 1175m along the cutting. Clean and reshape existing drain. Install subsoil drains below the subgrade. Replace the existing culvert with 375mm diameter pipe culvert with endwalls on both sides.
