Project description

Carmodys Road is heavily used by motorists for example cars, trucks, school buses. In winter this section of road continually gets washed out by flood water, which causes Council to direct funding and resources on a regular basis to reinstate the road so that it is safe for road users.

It is proposed to construct this section of gravel road to a width of 7.2 meters. The road pavement will consist of 200 millimetres of Class 3 crushed rock and 100 millimetres of Class 2 crushed rock overlayed over the existing pavement, with a 14 millimetre bitumen seal. All road crossing culverts will be replaced within this section of road.
